Shoes for Grand Rapids Rotary

Raul Fierro is collecting shoes one last time next week on December 9th meeting for the Grand Rapids Rotary project.   Do you have shoes you no longer need or wear? Has your child outgrown their shoes? Those unwanted shoes can do more than collect dust on the closet floor – Donate them to the Grand Rapids Rotary Club! The Grand Rapids Rotary Club is collecting shoes and Funds2Orgs will distribute them to small business owners in Central America, South America & Africa. - See more at: http://harbortownrotary.com/Stories/shoes-for-grand-rapids-rotary#sthash.ZjNPYzkv.dpuf

Brad Bennett served in South Vietnam in 1966. His experience left a scar on his

soul. In 2014, he returned to the village of Ap Chin An, a poor rice harvesting

community, to visit the elementary school. With the help of donations he was

able to improve some of the conditions. This year,

he will return to the school and would like to once

again improve on ongoing projects in this war

ravaged village.

Please attend to raise funds for this much needed

cause.

Rotary members and our partners in the fight to eradicate polio offer our heartfelt condolences and express a deep sadness in the wake of a horrific bomb attack in Quetta, Pakistan, that took the lives of at least 15 security personnel on 13 January. This tragic attack outside a polio immunization center is a stark reminder of the dangers faced by Rotary, our partners in the Global Polio Eradication Initiative, and the brave women and men on the front lines of our effort to protect all children from the paralyzing effects of polio. While the bombing will be investigated, one thing is clear:...
