Pat Finney has volunteered to be the Chairperson of the Executive Committee of the Dragon Boat Festival. Pat''s volunteerism and support for the festival are impressive; twice serving as co-chair as well as various other services such as helping out at the beverage tent and other areas. I've seen her paddling on more dragon boat teams than anyone on record.
Pat, like may other outstanding Rotarians, live our motto of "service above self." We are in great need of volunteers to serve on committees right now to make Lake Superior Dragon Boat Festival (LSDBF) move forward. Our club relies on this event as a major fundraiser as do the community and international services we support financially. We need everyone's support, not only on the days scheduled for the festival, but also months ahead for planning, scheduling, team recruitment, and fund raising.
Please contact Pat Finney or myself if you are ready to step up to the plate. If you are a relatively new member to the club, please consider a role in Dragon Boat - fresh ideas are what will keep this event afloat- pun intended! Make it a goal to help us make the 2020 Dragon Boat Festival the best ever, and save the date for August 21st / 22nd, and the dates before and after for setup and tear down.
