Few things evoke wonder like the night sky. But as Keith Marsh, a specialist in astrophotography, knows, capturing it on film takes skill and perseverance. His image of the Milky Way spilled out over a remote canyon in Washington state is the winner of this year's Rotary magazine Photo Awards. Click here to read your digital copy of the June 2024 issue and join us on a photographic vision quest. Marsh, a Rotarian from California, is equally fascinated by life on this planet, and you'll see another of his images, of girls preparing to celebrate Mexico's Día de los Muertos festivities, among the finalists. In another of this month's features, we explore the growth in landowners seeking to preserve their property and conserve habitat by working with land trusts. We'll introduce you to a club in Milwaukee that used that strategy to revitalize the city's riverfront. In the Our World section, we look at how solar power is expanding access to health care in places with less reliable electricity. And finally, come with us to Beirut to meet a new club of young people devoted to Positive Peace in Lebanon and beyond. |
