Bob Sherman and nurses at St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth, MN are working with the Lviv Municipal Hospital hospice in Ukraine to provide training for Lviv hospice nurses and volunteers providing palliative care to patients who are dying. Lviv hospice hospital has 30 beds that are almost always full with patients dying from war wounds and complications from dementia. Bob is a home hospice volunteer at St. Luke's Hospital and is working with their Hospice Manager on this project. Bob managed a 13 hour bus ride from Warsaw to Lviv successfully and delivered Harbortown's funds to the community.

Bob said the hospice needs a variety of medical supplies such as pain relievers, briefs for incontinent patients, bandages, antibiotics, and more.  Bob has purchased supplied in Poland since medical supplies are scarce in Ukraine these days and the prices are the best. That plus saving the shipping costs will result in greater value for Harbortown's contribution.

"Thank you for Harbortown's generous contribution. I'll be sure it's well spent on supplies for the hospice." ~ Bob Sherman
