Stories
Mentor North Coat Drive

Greetings, Harbortown Rotarians!

As a reminder, we are collecting gently used or new adult sized coats, hats, and mittens/gloves for Mentor North this year in replace of their Christmas Families program. This new initiative hopes to reach more families and make a greater impact on kids in need across the Northland.

Jim Wheeler and Chloe Strand will be collecting coats at our morning Rotary meeting on Nov. 13th. The club will reimburse a percentage of your purchase from the funds previously set aside for the Christmas gifts. Please turn your receipt in to Jim, Chloe, or Jan for reimbursement.

Thank you for your continued support!
Chloe Strand

Foundation Day
Foundation Day!

Dear Harbortown,

November 20th will be the day this year that Harbortown Rotary shows its support of the Rotary Foundation with our Annual Foundation Day.  We all became Rotarians to make a difference in our community and throughout the world.  The Rotary Foundation allows us to pool our resources together to create positive, impactful changes here in Duluth and in countries across the world.

The mission of The Rotary Foundation is to enable Rotarians to advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through the improvement of health, the support of education, and the alleviation of poverty.

It is our hope that all those supported by the Rotary Foundation can count on you with your financial support.  Our Harbortown Rotary goal is that every Rotarian gives a minimum of $100 per year to the Rotary Foundation.  That is less than $2 per week.  You can pay by check, credit card, or set up a recurring payment plan to automatically deduct your contribution.  Visit rotary.org to set this up and learn more about the Foundation.  Be sure to sign in if you donate online so that you and Harbortown Rotary are informed of your contribution!

I have attached a pledge form for giving to the Rotary Foundation.  For your convenience, here is your Rotary ID number:  10948898.  Please include this on your pledge form.

You can return this pledge form at the meeting on November 20th with instructions for how you want to pay or make a contribution online or by mail.  Please make your contribution before the end of the 2024 calendar year.

November 20th will be a fun fast-paced day of giving at our meeting.  We will honor individuals with Paul Harris Fellows.  We will learn more about the Rotary Foundation AND our goal is to raise approximately $15,000 for the Rotary Foundation.

If you would like to honor a family member or friend with a Paul Harris Fellow, please let me know as soon as possible.  If you will not be at the meeting on November 20th, please let me know ahead of time how much you would be willing to contribute on behalf of new Paul Harris fellows.

Thank you in advance for your contribution to the Rotary Foundation and for making a commitment to making a difference in the world.

Yours in Rotary Service.

Cesarzama Medical Clinic

Great News Everyone, Cesarzama Clinic Project is up and running in Bolivia!  We received all the funding, matching grant, and Mano a Mano Bolivia is beginning construction.  Thank you all for your generous support!

It will take around six months to complete the project so it might be good to start thinking about a trip to Bolivia in April 2025, we always have a great time exploring, this time in the Bolivia Amazon.  Let me know if you are interested in a Great Bolivia Adventure.

Sincerely YIR
Karlos

"Hello Karl. Today the construction work on the Cesarzama health center finally began. The Mano a Mano Bolivia truck, the architect and the staff traveled today and after a meeting with the community, they started the project."
