This Week's Program: Shane Bauer & Linda Hanson: Grandma's Marathon Young Athletes Foundation
A main focus of the Grandma's Marathon is to promote the growth of young athletes. That’s why we have created the Young Athletes Foundation (YAF). Through this arm of Grandma’s Marathon, we help community members and businesses that inspire kids to be healthy. Since its inception, the YAF has contributed more than $1,000,000 to area nonprofit youth athletic organizations.
Programs of the YAF include Saturday morning and Wednesday night at the Races, the running shoe program and their grant and UMD Scholarship programs.
Members of the Community Service Committee will be meeting Thursday, February 6 at Crooked Pint to review the grant requests submitted by a number of local youth organizations and non-profits. If you are a member of the committee, please review the submissions prior to the meeting and come prepared to discuss the requests and vote on submissions.
If you have any questions, please contact Chair, Jinell Abernathy at jinellabernethy@gmail.com.
