Morning Meeting:
Ricky Wright, YMCA Camp Miller Update
Join us Wednesday morning at 7:30am in the Great Hall - Kitchi Gammi Club (831 E Superior St., Duluth, MN 55802) as we hear from Ricky Wright, YMCA Camp Miller Update

Ricky Wright has served as the Executive Director of YMCA Camp Miller, a branch of the Duluth Area Family YMCA, since January of 2024. He earned his BAA from Central Michigan University, completing a major in Outdoor and Environmental Recreation and holds certification as a YMCA of the USA Organizational Leader. Ricky has been involved with camps and youth development as a counselor, administrator and teacher for 35 years, 30 of which had been spent at Mystic Lake Camp for the Lansing, MI YMCA. Other Y’s he has worked for include the Northern Lights Y in Upper Michigan and the Milwaukee Y in Wisconsin. He has helped thousands of youth develop spiritually, emotionally and physically in a safe and nurturing environment.

Ricky grew up in Okemos, Michigan where he spent time as a camper at Mystic Lake Camp. He has often shared that his camp experience as a child was such an important part of his development, that he tries to make sure every child has a similar experience. Ricky and his wife Lori met while working together at YMCA camp and will be celebrating 24 years of marriage in October of this year.

Cesarzama Funding Complete!

Our request for donations to our Cesarzama Medical Clinic have been successful! Thank you for your generous donations! Wow! You Rotarians are amazing.  We now have enough funding to complete the project and can initiate construction.  It takes five to six months to construct the project, so it's time to begin planning a future Bolivia adventure to the Bolivia Amazon to visit the clinic, other projects, and some fun sightseeing side trips.

Travel to Bolivia is an amazing experience and I know it has changed how I view the world and other cultures.  We generally travel in the spring or fall, to avoid the rainy season, so it appears possible to begin planning for a trip in March or April 2025.  If you are interested in joining us on a Bolivia International trip, please let Nathan and our international committee know.
