Essentia Hermantown Hands-On Volunteering
(No Morning Meeting)
Join Harbortown for our first hands-on project of the year this Wednesday, January 11th at the new YMCA Essentia Wellness Center at 4289 Ugstad Road from 4:00pm - 6:00pm (or any portion of that time slot you are able). Junior Rotarians welcome!

From 4:00pm - 4:30pm we will tour the new facility and see all the various YMCA programs offered at the facility.

From 4:30pm - 6:00pm we will pack 100 meal kits and help with a small painting project. Painting materials will be provided. If you are willing, please wear your painting clothes, and we will make quick work of the task!

Park in the back parking lot of the building and meet at the Member Services Desk. (The main/other entrance is by the playground and pretty easily recognizable.)

There is no morning meeting and no sign up necessary! At least 15 members/volunteers would be ideal. Hope to see you there!

    Harbortown Happy Hour

THANK YOU to all the Rotarians who braved the weather and came out to Lake Superior Brewing last Wednesday for Harbortown Happy Hour!

We hope you enjoyed the fellowship and all got home safely.

    Harbortown Investment Club Meeting
Harbortown's next Investment Club meeting is on Tuesday, January 10th, 2023. All members are welcome to come to the meeting.  (Time and location are still being determined.)

There are two times a year the committee can take on new members - January and July.  New members will need to buy in at the market rate; Tony Hansen can provide that amount if you are interested. Each year there are dues: 1/2 share - $25.00/month or a full share - $50.00/month to be paid at the beginning of each new year in full. The goal of this group is fellowship, education, and hopefully making some money.

If  you are interested in joining the investment group, please reach out to Jinell Abernethy (jinellabernethy@gmail.com  /  218.428.2800).

    Junior Rotarian Breakfast
New Generations Committee is hosting a Junior Rotarian Breakfast for all Junior Rotarians on Wednesday, January 25th at 7:15am. This is an opportunity to get all Junior Rotarians back together again, similar to our first full meeting. We will spend some time discussing and/or working on your school project proposals (thanks Denfeld for getting yours in last week!) as well as spending time in your school groups reviewing the process and selecting dates for the May Meeting Takeovers. In May, each school will host one of our Harbortown meetings and have responsibilities for greeting, fellowship, program, introductions, etc. It’s a great opportunity to gain meeting management skills!

Please send your RSVP (yes or no) to Charity Johnson (csjohnson@starbasemn.org). We’ll have a small gift for everyone who attends.
