Executive Director of Superior Business Improvement District & Co-Founder of Twin Ports Business Alliance
Join us Wednesday morning at 7:30am in the Great Hall - Kitchi Gammi Club (831 E. Superior St., Duluth, MN 55802) as we hear from Kelly Peterson, Executive Director of Superior Business Improvement District and Co-Founder of Twin Ports Business Alliance.
Peterson will speak to the club on her experience specifically as the Co-Founder of Twin Ports Business Alliance (TPBA). TPBA is a grassroots organization supporting commerce in both Duluth, MN and Superior, WI in anticipation of, and during, the Blatnick Bridge closure.
The TPBA started as a brainstorming group around the impacts of the Blatnick Bridge reconstruction but has since evolved to bring together businesses and community leaders from both sides of the Twin Ports. TPBA's purpose is to collaborate to support and promote businesses. Its leadership plans to share regular project updates with businesses and community members and resources and marketing opportunities to support local businesses. TPBA's first project will be the TPBA Passport Program.

CONGRATULATIONS to our very own Karl Everett for being recognized as this year's Distinguished Rotarian of the Year for International Service from our Rotary District 5580!
Karl was recognized for the work he's done on the Bolivia projects including medical clinics, schools, and water wells. He's been involved in over $1million in construction projects over the twelve years he's been involved in International Service.
Congratulations, Karl! We are honored to have you as a representative of Harbortown Rotary and appreciate all the incredible years of service you have committed!
What would it take to row solo nonstop for 10,000 miles over eight months across the Pacific? It would take Katie Spotz. The Cleveland Rotarian and endurance athlete will set out near the end of December to break a record and raise $1 million to expand clean water access in Fiji.
Then, meet another group of Rotary members confronting the global water crisis with energy and fresh ideas: Rotaractors. The clean water and sanitation project they led in the Ashanti region of Ghana was the first to be completed since The Rotary Foundation opened global grants to Rotaract in 2022.
In our personal essay, Texas Rotarian Bill Martin writes movingly of the death of a friend, how the loss motivated him to become a regular blood donor, and why you should, too.
Finally, in this month's Our Clubs report, journey to the hills of Vermont to experience a garden of almost otherworldly beauty and learn about the unusual partnership that reopened the beloved destination to the public.
