This Week's Program: Adam Fulton & Brad Johnson - The Public Role in Private Duluth Real Estate Development
Come in person or join us via Zoom for the September 1st meeting at the Holiday Inn.

Adam Fulton, Deputy Director of Planning and Economic Development along with our own Brad Johnson representing Lotus Realty Services will be joining us to shed some light on the public's role in private real estate development in and around the Duluth area.

Hear information on exciting projects around the area including River West, Boundary Avenue, Arrowhead Road and the future Costco site on Haines Road.

Perfect Day Duluth recently wrote an article on the project near Spirit Mountain's Grand Avenue chalet that would bring a "housing and retail component designed to attract active residents who would ski, bike and kayak at nearby Spirit Mountain, the Willard Munger State Trail and a potential future city park along the St. Louis River called Kayak Bay Park." Hartbortown Cleans up Park Point
Last Wednesday in place of a normal morning meeting, we tried something a little different.  We had 21 Rotarians and one guest demonstrating Service Above Self by cleaning up the Park Point Beach and Picnic area.  It was a cloudy but beautiful morning to be by the water as the wind blew and waves crashed on the beach.  It was a great way to start the day by helping to keep our community clean and maintain the treasure we have in Park Point and Lake Superior.  Thank you everyone who showed up and helped out.  You can check the Harbortown Facebook page for photos.

Raise for Rotary: Peer-to-Peer Fundraising for Rotary
There’s a new way you can raise funds for The Rotary Foundation. Our new peer-to-peer fundraising platform, Raise for Rotary, is now live in English! This new fundraising tool is easy to use, shareable on social media, and gives donors recognition credit!

Making it easy to use and share
Setting up a fundraiser with Raise for Rotary is simple and fast. You can support specific Rotary causes, such as the areas of focus, fighting polio, or disaster response. And your fundraiser is easy to share with your friends and family — especially on social media.

Giving donors recognition credit
Anyone who gives through Raise for Rotary using the email address they use for other Rotary functions, such as their My Rotary account, will receive Rotary giving credit and recognition.

Minimizing fees to do more good
External fundraising platforms have their own fee structures, rules, and guidelines. By creating our own platform, more of the funds you’re raising go directly toward Doing Good in the World.

With Raise for Rotary, you can tie your fundraiser to an event such as a birthday or athletic endeavor, or you can create a custom occasion. Have you given up haircuts because of COVID-19 and are willing to shave your head? Do you have a skill like juggling or quilting? Turn these things into fundraisers — the options are endless.

No matter how you choose to fundraise, the donations you generate help us make an even bigger impact around the world.

Thank you for your support and happy fundraising!

District Rotarian Video Memorial
Because District 5580 was unable to meet in person, a video memorial was created to honor Rotarians in the district who have passed, including two Skyline Rotarians - Chuck Voss and Graden Grobe.
