This Week's Program: Karl Everett, International Projects in Bolivia
Karl Everett will be presenting the status of Harbortown Rotary International projects in Bolivia.   A grand opening had been planned for March 19th but was rescheduled due to the COVID-19 concerns. However, all Rotarians are all invited to join for the dedication on the Bolivia adventure in 2021.  Karl just finished the final report and it is very appropriate that this month’s Rotary theme is Maternal and Child Health Month. The goal of the project is to provide improved medical facilities for the families in the region who lack access to quality medical care due to the remoteness of the region.

Bolivia’s maternal death rate during childbirth is very high, and is the highest in Latin America. A rate that can be reduced dramatically through appropriate pre- and post-natal care and attended deliveries.  The new clinic and staffing by doctors will greatly improve the health care in the region.

Join us virtually via Zoom.

“I want to thank all the Rotarians and Clubs who supported the Tocopilla Bolivia Medical Clinic, and Mano a Mano Bolivia and International for their work to complete the medical clinic that became operational this past month.”

Thank you to all who have volunteered these past weeks as we fill in for the Jr. Rotarians and those duties. Check your duty roster as we are going back to assigned duties for the remainder of the quarter starting June 3.

Reminder Presidents Dinner and Raffle Drawing is still scheduled for June 17th at Ridgeview. Subject to change as well. Hopefully things will open up and we don't have to reschedule.

Next week we have a potential volunteer opportunity with Ecolibrium and assembling masks, we will keep you posted as information becomes more clear.

June 3rd is still up in the air on if we can get back to meeting in person, as each day goes by i get the feeling we may be meeting via ZOOM for awhile. I will keep you posted as the Governor advises on what we should and shouldn't do.
